Snippets Week #5 ...

Hello my lovely friends and visitors, I hope your week is going well. Another snippets post for you today, as I am desperately trying to shrink those bulging bags and here is my card …

A 148mm square card
It has lovely texture and depth and will post okay!
I love, love, love this butterfly!
I managed to capture the shimmer

Created for me and especially for these Challenges

Time Out Challenge Inspired by these words:
Friends are the charming gardeners who make our Souls Blossom

With the exception of the patterened paper and card blank everything else is from the snippet bags. The doily is a really old stash item too and it is damaged but that can’t be seen anymore due to the way I positioned the other elements. The lower layer is a piece of Sheena card that had Pebeo texture paste put through Tim Holtz’s Lace layering stencil. Once the paste was dry I coloured that with my Distress Crayons.

I stamped the magnolia flower onto a small white snippet using Pebeo Dyna paints to ink the stamp up with and then stamped the flower multiple times until I had a good print. It is the MISTI that has made that possible. The butterfly was stamped and heat embossed with gold embossing powder onto black card. I then used my Derwent metallic watercolour pencils to colour it and I have to admit that has turned out so much better than I dared hoped.

I inked the patterned paper very lightly with Peacock Feathers Distress ink pad and ink blending tool and foam and my card was finished. Sometimes, and I really do wish it happened more often, elements just seem to come together to look seamless or as if they were meant to be lol! I really want that to happen much more often lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and comment. I really do appreciate it and I hope you get some time to do what you love to do soon ttfn Karen x
